We recommend the Zaballa House* bed & breakfast in downtown Half Moon Bay. It was Jacqui's home for three months while she settled in to her new job and looked into the lay of the land. Cute place. Great breakfasts. A couple blocks from the party and from the ocean.
We are holding a block of rooms at the Zaballa House for a rate of approximately $113 per night including brekky. Just ask for Maria or Sheila (the owner) and mention Jacqui's name for the rate.
Other options:
San Benito House*. Also right downtown on Main Street. Oldest hotel in Half Moon Bay.
Mill Rose Inn*. Fancier, romantic tea-lit inn on a secluded street just off of Main.
Ritz Carlton south of town a couple miles on HW1. Aimee introduced Jacqui to their amazing roman bath spa which is , it itself, worth the trip. If you ask the clerk of the spa, they will give you a tour and show you around. Afterwards, you can sit outside on the terrace next to the firepits overlooking the ocean and listen to bagpipers (who play there on a regular basis). They have jazz with burgers and beers every Thursday night in the lounge.
Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel*. A hostel in a 106-year old lighthouse! Cheap and pretty neat-o.
* = Walkable to, and stumble-home-able from, the party.
